Shortly before 5 am, a magnitude 3.9 earthquake hit about 15 miles southeast of Salina, with the epicenter about six miles east-southeast of Assaria. To this point, there was a report of weak shaking in Matfield Green.
Since Dec. 1, the area between Assaria, Salina and Gypsum has had over 70 earthquakes. Most have been small, but a few have been felt across parts or all of the KVOE listening area.
