Here soon, hours are changing for the Emporia Animal Shelter.
Humane Society of the Flint Hills Director Stephanie Achille says the shelter is changing its appointment-only and walk-in traffic days.
Achille says walk-in hours for traffic Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be 10 am to 5 pm. Weekend traffic will be trimmed two hours and will be from 10 am to 3 pm for both Saturdays and Sundays.
Hours will keep this schedule through March.
Because the Humane Society couldn’t have its Santa Paws event because of the coronavirus pandemic, the goal now is to have a special photography event for Valentine’s Day through L & L Pets. The date for that is currently pending. Plans are also developing for a special community event March 19.
