Tracking along with a report at the Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees meeting and the most recent data from Lyon County Public Health this week, the hospital’s latest COVID-19 Dashboard indicates lower COVID traffic.
The hospital’s weekly report showed nine patients Wednesday, down from 12 Tuesday. It was the first time daily COVID traffic was below 10 since Dec. 16.
On Wednesday, Public Health announced active hospitalizations had decreased from seven to four.
Newman Regional Health’s dashboard also continued a gradual increase in COVID-vaccinated patients needing to be admitted for care. Of Newman Regional Health’s 97 hospitalized patients since July 1, 19 — just under 20 percent — have been vaccinated. The vaccinated percentage was 18 percent last week.
Median patient transfer times increased from over two hours to nearly three hours, 30 minutes. Transfers can take as long as nine days in the latest report.
