An Osage City Woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Osage County Saturday evening.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2001 GMC Yukon driven by 43-year-old Lesley Ann Berner was traveling westbound on US Route 56 at mile marker 382.4, roughly 29 miles northeast of Emporia just before 5:30 pm. Berner lost control of the vehicle for unlisted reasons and entered the south ditch.
Berner attempted to correct the vehicle back onto the highway causing it to overturn.
Berner suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident according to KHP.
