Driving conditions are back to full speed across the area after high temperatures near 50 degrees Monday, although travel issues could return to the KVOE listening area before the work week ends.
The temps helped to clear an inch or less of a snow-and-ice combination that made for difficult driving conditions over the weekend, and especially for Saturday.
Unfortunately, slick and cold conditions could well return by early Thursday. There is at least a decent chance of light snowfall for Wednesday night along with cooler temperatures. Right now, the forecast calls for 2 inches of snow or less until around sunrise along with subzero wind chills Wednesday night through much of Thursday. Temperatures will improve quickly, going above freezing by Friday and reaching the mid-50s by Saturday.
