Kansas Court of Appeals candidate Kristen Wheeler will have her formal interview Wednesday morning.
Wheeler, the daughter of Lyon County Chief Judge Merlin Wheeler, is one of eight applicants for the position coming open when Judge Michael Buser retires next month. Wheeler’s interview before the Court of Appeals Nominating Commission is at 9:30 am at the federal courthouse in Wichita. There is no word on when the Nominating Commission will make its recommendation to Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.
Wheeler was a finalist for a Kansas Supreme Court position when Kansas Supreme Court Justice Carol Beier retired two years ago. She also interviewed for the Court of Appeals last year when Judge Melissa Taylor Standridge ultimately replaced Beier.
