Empower House Ministries has found a home.
In a recent news release, Empower House Executive Director Melissa Landis announced the faith-based addiction recovery agency had secured a “recovery residence.” Empower House offers a “holistic multi-faceted approach and an empowering environment” to assist female addicts in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties with their long-term recovery.
Landis says the ability to provide a stable living environment will remove a major barrier from the journey to recovery for local women.
In addition to essential life-skills training, the agency also plans to offer a number of special clinics that teach what Empower House calls “adulting skills.”
The exact location and size of the facility have not been disclosed, however, Landis says it is located near Ninth and Prairie and the home will have six beds available in February. Those interested in applying for services through Empower House may apply by visiting Empowerhouseministries.org.
