Two Emporians and two Franklin County residents were hurt as part of a wreck on Emporia’s north edge Sunday evening.
Lyon County Sergeant Zach Shafer says the wreck on Interstate 35 near the Merchant Street exit happened shortly before 6 pm. A car driven by 24-year-old Hannah Pope of Emporia rear-ended a car driven by 85-year-old Janette Reh (RAY) of Richmond.
Pope and a 3-year-old passenger were taken to Newman Regional Health, as were Reh and her passenger, 79-year-old Lawrence Reh. Injuries are not believed to be life-threatening for any of the four patients. All involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing. Deputies have not said what led to Pope’s car rear-ending Reh’s car.

Three people have been taken to the hospital after a wreck on Emporia’s north edge Sunday evening.
Two vehicles were apparently involved in the crash, which happened on Interstate 35 near the Merchant Street overpass just before 6 pm. Names and initial condition reports have not been announced.
