Effective Monday, Emporia State University has a new Vice President for enrollment management and student success.
The university announced in a news release Monday that Dr. Shelly Gehrke has been promoted to the position. As part of her new role, Gehrke’s responsibilities will include supervision over the Office of Admissions, the ESU Student Advising Center, Student Accessibility and Support Services and the Academic Center for Excellence and Success.
In the above-mentioned news release, Gehrke stated, “Emporia State has played a pivotal role in the region for well over 150 years. I am honored and excited to work with the university and community as we fortify ESU’s mission to change lives for the common good.”
Gehrke’s new appointment comes as ESU is looking to “accelerate” its alignment with the Kansas Board of Regent’s goal for increased enrollment across all Regent’s institutions within the state of Kansas.
