The Emporia High girls wrestling team defeated Paola and Topeka Seaman in duels Tuesday night.
The Lady Spartans defeated Paola 36-30. Earning wins for the Spartans were Evelin Geronimo at 109 pounds, Azua Obregon at 115, Kiana Flores-Delgado at 155, Hayley Dismuke at 170 and Alexis Turpin at 235.
The Emporia High girls defeated Topeka Seaman 39-24. Earning wins for the Spartans were:
Evelyn Geronimo 109, Virginia Munoz at 138, Adriana Hernandez at 143, Kiana Flores-Delgado at 155, Haylie Dismuke at 170 and Alexis Turpin at 235.
The Emporia boys wrestled Paola to a 40-40 draw and won the duel on critiera. Earning wins for the Spartans were: Isaiah Hernandez at 120 pounds, Owen Brown at 160 pounds, Jesse Ultreras at 170, Davian White at 182, Bobby Trujillo at 195, Jay Orozco at 220 and Josiah Bradley at 285 pounds.
The Spartans defeated Topeka Seaman 49-24. Earning wins for the Spartans were: Braxton Malone at 106, Lukas Hainline at 126, David Tucker at 132, Logan Anderson at 138, Jesse Ultreras at 170, Bobby Trujillo at 195, Jay Orozco at 220 and Josiah Bradley 285.
The Emporia High girls go to Newton Thursday. The boys will be competing in the 59th Newton Tournament of Champions beginning Friday.
