The Georgia Bulldogs are college football’s national champions.
The Bulldogs ended a 41-year title drought by defeating Alabama 33-18 on Monday, scoring three touchdowns in the final quarter — including a pick-six — to emerge as champions.
It’s the third national championship for the Bulldogs, who last won the title in 1980 and also won in 1942.
With the win, Georgia also ended several years of frustration against Alabama after losing the 2017 national title game and two SEC Championships games, including one last month, to the Crimson Tide.
Georgia finishes the year 14-1, while Alabama finishes 13-2.
