Coronavirus is causing Lyon County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee to hold at least its next meeting virtually.
The LEPC is set to meet Jan. 20 at noon. Normally, meetings are held in the Sheriff’s Office basement, but the recent influx of COVID cases is pushing the meeting to Zoom.
The group meets monthly to discuss immediate and long-term emergency management issues for the city of Emporia, Lyon County, school districts, utilities, business partners and the media.
