The Emporia High boys basketball team picked up their first win of the season Friday night outscoring Topeka Hayden 52-51 in overtime.
Parker Leeds would make the Spartans only 3 point shot in just over 2 minutes to play in overtime to give Emporia High the lead for good.
Sheldon Stewart made 2 free throws with just over 10 seconds to play giving Emporia High a 4 point lead.
Parker Leeds was the leading scorer for the Spartans finishing with 16 points. Sheldon Stewart finished with 12 points and River Peters added 20 points.
The Emporia High boys return to action Thursday when they play Bishop Miege in the Ralph Miller Classic.
