The Emporia High girls wrestling team finished in 2nd place at the 1st Annual Newton Tournament of Champions for girls Thursday. The Lady Spartans won 4 of the 5 duels they competed in.
Their lone loss was to Washburn Rural 42-24.
Emporia High defeated Newton 60-12, Defeated Centennial 34-33, Defeated Garden City 48-24, and Defeated McPherson 36-30.
The Emporia High boys wrestling team will be competing in the 59th annual Newton Tournament of Champions beginning Friday.
