Lebo picked up back-to-back victories over Madison in area high school basketball Friday night.
The Lebo Lady Wolves remained undefeated with a 68-25 victory over the Madison Lady Bulldogs.
Lebo shook off a slow shooting start in the first quarter and went on a 15-0 run late in the first into the second to help build a 44-8 halftime lead. In the second half Lebo outscored Madison 24-17 to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
Lebo had four players in double figures. Freshman Saige Hadley and senior Allie Moore led the way with 15 points each. Junior Brooklyn Jones added 11 points and sophomore Audrey Peak ended the night with 10.
Lebo head coach Patrick Gardner says his team executed well on both sides of the ball.
With the win Lebo improves to 10-0 on the season while Madison falls to 5-2.
In the boy’s game, Lebo overcame a first-half deficit to hand Madison their first loss on the season 59-52.
After outscoring Lebo 15-9 in the first quarter Madison would build their lead to as many as 11 before the Wolves rallied in the 2nd to trail by only three 32-29 at the half. Lebo would come out of the locker room with momentum and outscore Madison 16-7 in the third to carry a six-point advantage into the fourth.
In the fourth, Lebo would stretch the lead to as many as 13 and Madison would come as close as seven to tying the game but could never overcome the deficit.
Lebo was led by junior Landon Grimmett who led all scorers with 29 points. Sophomore Grayson Shoemaker ended the night with 14 points.
Lebo head coach Austin Klumpe says the fans got their money’s worth.
Senior Braden Foltz led Madison With 16 points while fellow senior Drew Stutseman ended the night with 13. With the win Lebo improves to 7-3 on the season as Madison falls to 6-1.
