The investigation continues into Friday night’s destructive shed fire in south Emporia.
The fire at 216 South Congress was reported just after 8 pm. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage says the cause and origination point are still under investigation.
The shed was totally engulfed in flames when they arrived a few minutes later.

Emporia Fire is investigating after fire destroyed a shed Friday night.
The fire in the 200 block of South Congress was reported just after 8 pm. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage says the shed was totally engulfed in flames when they arrived a few minutes later. It took less than 20 minutes to get the fire out, but by that time the shed was rendered useless and the contents were destroyed. Steinlage estimates the damage amount at around $15,000.
There is no word yet on a cause or origination point. No injuries were reported.
