The timing for winter weather advisories is different areawide, but wintry weather is likely across Lyon and all surrounding counties beginning Friday night and continuing for most of Saturday.
Winter weather advisories start at 6 pm Friday for Chase and Morris counties, followed by 10 pm for Lyon, Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties and Greenwood County at midnight. All advisories for area counties end at 6 pm Saturday.

Travel conditions Saturday will be far from ideal with wind gusts as high as 40 mph causing blowing and drifting — and pushing wind chills to the single digits for much of the day.
Conditions improve Sunday with highs in the low 40s, sunshine and light winds.
