Lyon County’s current spike in COVID-19 cases is not slowing down according to the latest data report from Public Health.
In its first report of the week, Public Health announced the county’s active case total increased from 687 to 835 after 240 new cases were reported between Friday and Monday. Of the active cases, 204 are considered breakthroughs with a total of 988 collective breakthrough cases being identified to date.
The county’s death count has now reached triple digits at 100 with five cases still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Active hospitalizations saw no change at nine. Since the pandemic started, there are now 8,111 total cases, or almost a quarter of Lyon County’s total population of around 33,000.
