A suspicious order call to authorities late last week led to the alleged discovery of drugs, paraphernalia and guns — and to the arrests of three Emporians.
Emporia Police Capt. Ray Mattas says officers were called to 501 Neosho Apt. 1 for the suspicious odor Friday night. Once on site, officers say they smelled marijuana coming from the apartment, so they secured the location and successfully applied for a search warrant.
The warrant allegedly led to the discovery of three handguns, ammunition, two ballistic vests and digital scales — along with 24 grams of marijuana, nearly a gram of cocaine, over three ounces of methamphetamine and over $2,500 in cash.
Three people were arrested afterward, including 27-year-old Amanda Sibert, 46-year-old Jason Smith and 42-year-old Chasity Stark. Formal charges are pending.
