The Emporia High boys basketball was outscored by Shawnee Mission South 80-46 in the 3rd place game of the Ralph Miller Classic Saturday.
The Spartans held an early 11-10 lead before South used a 20-0 run to take a lead they would not give up.
Emporia High Coach Beau Welch said they needed to be stronger with the ball.
Emporia High was led by Parker Leeds with a career-high 25 points. The Spartans return to action next Saturday when they host Washburn Rural.
