The incident was reported just before 2:50 pm in the 1800 block of US Highway 56 near the Kansas Turnpike Admire Council Grove tollbooth. Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope says an investigation is currently ongoing, however, initial reports indicate the individuals involved were quail hunting at the time of the accident.
The exact number of individuals involved is unclear, however, the accident involved a shotgun and left one individual with currently unspecified injuries. Again, Cope tells KVOE News the incident was likely accidental and there is no immediate threat or danger to the general public.
