The list is set and the 13 organizations receiving funding through the Emporia St. Patrick’s Day Committee have been revealed.
Committee member Barb Lowery revealed the list during a stop on KVOE’s Morning Show Friday. According to Lowery, the 13 organizations include:
*ESU Special Education Event Planning Committee
*Shiloh Home of Hope
*North Lyon County Veterans Memorial
*What’s in Outdoors
*USD 252 Early Childhood Program
*Hetlinger Developmental Services
*Didde Catholic Campus Center
*USD 253 Transitions
*Buffy Animal Welfare Group
*Hartford Veterans Appreciation Committee
*Forever Home Pet Rescue
*Camp Hope
*FHTC Scholarship program
Lowery says it took some time to narrow down the list.
Lowery has often referred to the committee as the “cart before the horse committee” as they traditionally announce their fund recipients before fundraising takes place. With that in mind, all are invited to attend the annual St. Pats live and silent auction scheduled to take place at Bruff’s Sports Bar and Grill on Friday, Feb. 25.
Lowery says they are in the process of collecting donations for auction items. The annual parade and related St. Patrick’s Day activities will take place in downtown Emporia on Mar. 19.
