Area students represented themselves extremely well in the state’s Kansas Day photo contest.
Students from first grade to high school senior could submit photographs on the theme “Favorite Place in Kansas in 2021.” Area winners include:
*First grade: Estrella Segovia of Emporia’s Walnut Elementary took first place for her photo, “Enjoying the Weather.”
*Fourth grade: Rebecca Barnhardt of Lebo Elementary was first for her photo, “Beautiful Kansas Sky.” Jorja Beeman of Madison Elementary was second for “Cowboy Silhouette.”
*Seventh grade: Rachael Barnhardt of Lebo Junior High was first for “Family Time Checking Cows.”
*Eighth grade: Allie Kneisler of Lyndon Middle School was second for “Do You Hear Me?”
