Lyon County’s overall COVID-19 cases are continuing to trend downwards as January draws to a close.
In its first data report of the week Monday, Lyon County Public Health reported just 111 new COVID-19 cases since Friday. This is the lowest start to a week since the new year began with 283 new cases reported Jan. 3.
Last week’s overall new case total was also the lowest of the month with just under 500 new cases reported from Monday to Friday. For the second straight reporting period, no new deaths were announced keeping the county’s death count at 105 with five cases still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
