The proceeds of what has become an exciting annual event from the Emporia Rotary Club have been handed off to Family Promise of the Flint Hills.
The organization received the more than $4,000 check last Tuesday and Executive Director Jessica Corpening says it will go a long way in serving all needs of their clients. Corpening says the needs of their clients can range from basics to essentials depending on the situation.
Corpening says the recent donation is just the latest benefit of what has been a very positive relationship with the Rotary Club in recent years.
Corpening says they are currently seeking help from any groups or organizations willing to provide meals for a week on a rotating schedule to their clients. At this time there are enough groups involved for an eight-week rotation, however, Family Promise would like to have a total of 13 or more that way each organization would only be responsible for providing meals once a quarter.

Family Promise helps families with children ages 18 and younger by offering shelter and food. Family Promise also creates a case plan to help families through employment, budgets and long-term housing.
