Over 160 Evergy Customers are without power due to an outage in northwest Lyon County.
The outage was reported just before 3 pm and is affecting 168 customers in Admire, Miller and Reading as well as a small corridor of Kansas Highway 99.
According to Evergy officials, the cause of the outage was a “public damage incident” in the 250 block of Road X, 18 miles northeast of Emporia, that led to a utility pole being broken off at the base. Evergy is working diligently to restore all customers, however, an exact restoration time is still being determined.
Causes are pending for a cluster of seven outages that has knocked out power to about 250 Evergy customers in the Hamilton and Virgil areas.
Evergy has dispatched crews to these areas and is currently working to restore power. Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for more details as they become available.
