The latest speaker in the Emporia State University Master of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS) program seminar series will look to answer the age-old question, “social media and the internet – friend or foe?”
ESU students and the general public are invited to tune into the special presentation by Mark Phillips of the Johnson County criminalistics laboratory Monday evening. This is the third installment of the program’s annual seminar series and according to Director of the MSFS program Dr. Melissa Bailey, unlike previous presentations, the upcoming seminar will be open to all ages.
The topics that will be covered throughout the presentation will include how social media assists law enforcement in cases, how one’s data is used by companies, deep fake and internet safety and different social media challenges such as those on TikTok. The presentation will take place via Zoom starting at 7 pm Monday evening.
We have provided a link to the presentation below. Participants will have the ability to ask questions during the presentation.
