Lyon County’s new coronavirus caseload activity continued to wind down with the lowest data report of the year Friday.
Public Health reported a total of 45 new cases in its latest report putting the week’s overall total at 198 new cases. The total is far cry from the 896 new cases reported the week of Jan. 9 and this is the first full week of 2022 where all three COVID updates from Public Health noted increases of less than 100 cases.
The overall total now stands at 9,926 since March of 2020. The county’s death toll remains at 108 with seven cases still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
