If you need a coronavirus vaccine or test, Healthier Lyon County has a special option for you.
After partnering with Kansas Department of Health and Environment, UnitedHealthcare and Emporia Main Street on a combination test-and-vaccination clinic Feb. 4, Healthier Lyon County will have a clinic from 11 am to 5 pm Sunday, Feb. 20, at the St. Francis Ministries office, 1221 East 12th.
Meanwhile, free coronavirus testing continues in Emporia in other avenues.
WellHealth continues offering free tests at the Bowyer Community Building. Hours are 7 am to 6 pm Mondays through Saturdays for the rest of February. Residents wanting tests can schedule appointments online through www.gogettested.com.
The Flint Hills Community Health Center is also offering free tests, with hours from 8:15-11:30 am and 1:15-4:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays. Friday hours are 8:15-11:30 am and 1:15-2:45 pm. The Health Center is still limiting rapid tests to first responders — EMS, law enforcement, healthcare and pharmacy workers — as well as residents needing to leave isolation. Results with other tests may take up to five days to return. Residents need to schedule appointments online through www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org.
Newman Regional Health is offering tests, but costs are determined by insurance providers, who are increasingly moving away from covering those costs. Supplies are described as “extremely limited.” Residents can schedule appointments by calling 620-343-6801.
