If you want to go online to pay your Emporia city water bill, you now have a new and improved option available to you.
City Treasurer Janet Harrouf says the system went live Tuesday and should make paying bills much more user-friendly than the previous system.
The city has unveiled a new online option that lets residents go to the city’s payment portal at www.emporia-kansas.gov — or they can scan a QR code with their mobile devices to register or pay. Residents can then enter payment information, review and submit payments and receive an email confirmation.
The improved utility bill pay service also lets residents pay by phone or text through credit card, debit card, e-check, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Email and text reminders are also available.
