The Emporia High girls basketball team picked up their 12th win of the season Friday night outscoring Manhattan 41-29.
After a low scoring first half, the Lady Spartans would respond in the 2nd half using an 8-0 run to close out the 3rd quarter and scored 21 points in the 4th quarter. Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey was pleased to get the win.
Gracie Gilpin led the offense with 21 points. The Lady Spartans are now 12-4 for the season.
Manhattan won the boys game 64-52. After a close first 3 quarters Manhattan outscored the Spartans 24-18 in the 4th quarter to seal the win. Emporia High Coach Beau Welch found 2 areas of concern.
River Peters scored a career-high 21 points to led Emporia High.
Both the boys and girls are scheduled to host Junction City Tuesday night.
