Emporia High girls wrestling team qualifies 7 for State

The Emporia High girls wrestling team will be sending seven to state after Saturday’s regional tournament.
Three Lady Spartans finished in first place. Evelin Geronimo at 109, Madelynn Griffin at 126, and Virginia Munoz at 136.
Azia Obregon at 115 and Megan Olson at 235 finished in 2nd place. Katina Keosybounhenang at 120 pounds finished in 3rd place and Kiana Flores-Delgado finished in 4th place.
As a team, Emporia High girls finished in 2nd place behind Washburn Rural.
The 6-5A Girls State tournament will be held at Hartman Arena near Wichita beginning on the 23rd.
The boys 5A regional will be held next Friday and Saturday.
