An Atchison man was arrested in Osage County on Saturday for alleged drug distribution activity.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says a deputy handled a traffic stop at Interstate 35 Melvern exit, around 33 miles northeast of Emporia, shortly before 8:45 pm Saturday. The deputy reported finding illegal narcotics.
The driver, 25-year-old Demarcus Richards, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and marijuana, both with intent to distribute, along with other drug charges. The amounts of cocaine and marijuana allegedly found in the vehicle have not been announced.
Formal charges are pending at last word.
