The Emporia State baseball team closed out their weekend series with Colorado State-Pueblo with a 14-3 run-rule win Sunday.
Coach Seth Wheeler called it an encouraging win.
The Hornets scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning and blew the game open with 5 runs in the 5th inning.
Blake Carroll led the offense going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
The Hornets are now 4-3 for the season.
They are scheduled to host Metro State in a 4 game series beginning Friday.
