It was a dominating rebounding effort that carried Missouri Western to an 81-67 win over the Emporia State women last night.
Western outrebounded the Lady Hornets 50-27 with 19 of those rebounds offensive, which led to 22 second-chance points for Western. Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn said they tried a new scheme but they still could not keep Western off the boards.
Emporia State was led by Ehlaina Hartman who finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Kali Martin and Victoria Price both scored 14 points and Karsen Schultz added 10 points.
The Lady Hornets fall to 12-12 for the season and 7-11 in the MIAA.
Both the women and men play at Northwest Missouri State Thursday.
