Plans are moving forward for two rescheduled annual meetings.
The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce will have its annual meeting May 7. Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna says there’s another change besides the date.
The standard annual meeting activities will take place, including the annual business meeting, recognition of the annual award winners and a changing of the guard between outgoing Chamber Board of Directors chair Nik Roth to Carla Barnett.
The Chamber is treating the event as a sellout, but residents interested in attending can call Amy LIttle at the Chamber, 620-342-1803, for information.
Meanwhile, the Lyon County Historical Society is having its annual meeting at 6 pm March 8. History Center Director Greg Jordan:
This comes as the History Center continues its push for memberships. Jordan says new members are vital to the organization because of connections to the public and because the fees help with exhibits and other events.
Residents interested in attending can call the History Center at 620-340-6310.
