A Big win for the Emporia High boys basketball team Tuesday night. The Spartans upset Junction City 74-63. Emporia High took control of the game in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Blue Jays 26-11 to build a 17 point lead 54-37 going to the 4th quarter and held on for the 11 point win.
Emporia High Coach Beau Welch said they executed the game plan.
Cooper Rech led the offense with 22 points, Parker Leeds added 21 points and River Peters finished with 18 points.
The Emporia High girls cruised to a 63-19 win over Junction City. 12 players scored for the Lady Spartans led by Gracie Gilpin with 13 points and Rebecca Snyder with 11 points.
Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey was happy to honor the seniors.
The Emporia High basketball teams play at Topeka West Friday night.
