A recall on certain baby formula is underway.
Abbott Nutrition is voluntarily recalling powder formulas under the Similac, Alimentum and Elecare labels after concerns about salmonella and another bacteria, Cronobacter sakazakii, in its production facility in Sturgis, Michigan. Abbott says its finished-product testing has revealed no pathogens, but it decided to remove the powder formula with expiration dates of April 1, 2022, or later.
Flint Hills Community Health Center says it is awaiting guidance from the Kansas Women, Infant and Children program and the US Department of Agriculture on how to return or exchange powder formula.
