A decline in demand for bed space at Newman Regional Health is letting the hospital ease some visit restrictions.
Chief Executive Officer Bob Wright had details on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Thursday.
Last week, the hospital showed the daily patient census as low as four, well below the peak of 16 last seen Jan. 27. On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, Chief Executive Officer Bob Wright said numbers dipped even further over the past few days, with just one COVID patient in-house and no recovered patients still needing hospital care.
The declining caseload means less demand for tests, and supplies have improved the past two weeks. Blood supply, which was at a critical stage when cases and patient traffic spiked in mid-January, is back to the normal allocation for the hospital.
