Emporia Main Street’s Fab Lab has a new manager.
Main Street has announced Jeremy Wharton is now leading the Fabrication Lab at 727 Commercial. Wharton is a Hartford native and a graduate of Flint Hills Technical College, first in 2013 with a technology degree in computerized machine tool engineering, following that with associate degrees in both network technology and computerized machine tool engineering in 2015. He has experience in production runs, fiber laser engravers, CNC lathes, mills and other specialties.
The Fab Lab has several types of technology and prototyping resources available for entrepreneurs and inventors, including 3D printers, large format printers, a carbon dioxide laser engraver and electronics testing equipment. The space is designed to offer resources for people and businesses to design, develop and enhance products for business development.
Wharton will join KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment at 8:20 am Tuesday.
