The Emporia State basketball teams return to action Saturday evening with games at Missouri Western.
The Emporia State women go into the game setting in 10th place in the MIAA standings. Coach Toby Wynn says they need some wins to advance to the MIAA tournament.
Western won the first meeting with the Lady Hornets on Tuesday.
The Emporia State men have already secured a spot in the MIAA tournament. They will be playing a Western team that is battling for the 8th thru the 10th spot. Emporia State Coach Craig Doty says they will need to play well for 40 minutes.
The women will tip-off at 5 pm followed by the men at 7 pm.
The games will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
Men’s basketball coach Craig Doty has announced the signing of Royal Valley HS guard Nahcs Wahwassuck. He joins Lawrence Free State HS guard Jordan Brown in the Hornets recruiting class for next year. Wahwassuck is a 6-5 guard and is averaging 18.1 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals a game this year for the Panthers.
Kansas plays at West Virginia Saturday night. Tipoff is set for 7 pm.
The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
