The Emporia State baseball team split a doubleheader with Metro State Monday. Metro won the first game 18-9, scoring 9 runs in the top of the 7th after Emporia State tied the game in the bottom of the 5th.
Emporia State won the 2nd game 10-6. The Hornets took the lead for good with a 5 run bottom of the 7th.
The Emporia State baseball team opens MIAA play Friday hosting Northeastern State.
