A big turnout is requested at Emporia State’s basketball doubleheader with Pittsburg State on Wednesday.
Emporia State’s Athletics Department is teaming with Central Care Cancer Center to hold Hoops for Hope, a general awareness effort for all kinds of cancer and a fundraiser for the June Bug Foundation. On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia on Monday, Central Care Cancer Center Director of Marketing LeAnn Powers said the June Bug Foundation addresses a vital niche for cancer patients and their families.
ESU Associate Athletics Director for External Operations Brett McLaughlin says the Athletics Department is glad to be involved.

Special T-shirts will be available for the first 200 in attendance with a minimum $5 donation, with raffle items available throughout the doubleheader and a game of Knockout at halftime of the men’s game.
