Biting cold will blanket the KVOE listening area overnight, but the coldest air will set up just west and north of Emporia.
Lyon, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are part of a wind chill advisory until 11 am Wednesday. A combination of air temperatures near zero and northerly gusts up to 25 mph will push wind chills down to -15 to -20.
Emporia, meanwhile, could see an overnight low of 5 with wind chills as low as -12.
Wednesday temperatures will struggle to reach 20 before a slight chance of light snow develops Wednesday night. A better chance of light snow is still in place for Thursday morning with an inch total expected areawide.
We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
