Emporia Police say four people were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drug sales.
Besides the arrests of 28-year-old Shelby Moellenkamp and 24-year-old Christopher Johnson, both of Strong City, along with 29-year-old Ashley Ollenberger of Americus, Police Capt. Lisa Hayes 28-year-old Michael J Smith of Strong City was also confined Tuesday. Like Ollenberger and Johnson, Smith was arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution and unlawful distribution using a communication facility.
Moellenkamp, meanwhile, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to unlawfully distribute a controlled substance.
Formal charges against all four are currently pending. Further details about the investigation are not currently being released.

Two Strong City residents and one from Americus were arrested by the Emporia Police Investigations Division on suspicion of drug distribution Tuesday.
Police Capt. Lisa Hayes says 28-year-old Shelby Moellenkamp and 24-year-old Christopher Johnson, both of Strong City, were arrested along with 29-year-old Ashley Ollenberger of Americus:
*Moellenkamp was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to unlawfully distribute a controlled substance
*Johnson and Ollenberger were arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful distribution using a communication facility.
The arrests followed a police investigation into marijuana sales. The alleged amounts have not been divulged.
The case is not connected to a joint investigation involving Emporia Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as announced Tuesday. Details beyond the investigation’s existence have not been announced and will be coming from the US Attorney’s Office in WIchita as federal authorities see fit.
