An Emporia woman was unharmed, however, a local business was damaged following a single-vehicle accident in downtown Emporia Sunday morning.
According to Emporia Police Lt. Tim Wacker, officers were called to Tallgrass Art and Frame at 615 Commercial just before 11 am after a vehicle reportedly drove through the business. Wacker says that a 2005 Hyundai driven by 65-year-old Sun Golden of Emporia was backing up when Golden mistakenly pressed the accelerator and not the brake.
The vehicle then backed through the businesses front window before coming to a stop. Full damage estimates are pending, however, the business’ display window is currently boarded up.
No injuries were reported and no citations have been issued at this time. EPD is still investigating the accident.
