Sunny and mild conditions will transition the KVOE listening area from February to March this week. They also signal a very high fire danger all week.
The National Weather Service says temperatures in the 60s Monday — and 70s for the rest of the work week — will combine with sunshine, existing dry conditions despite notable snowfalls earlier in the month and relative humidity levels at or below 15 percent to increase the fire danger all week. Wind gusts will be as high as 20 mph until Friday, when they may be as high as 30 mph.
According to the current forecast, the next chance of rain is Friday night through Saturday night. Chances are currently low.
Even with wind gusts at 20 mph or less expected all week, outdoor burns will not be recommended until the chances of rain develop to close out the week. Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for updates.
