The Emporia State softball team was 1 and 1 on the final day of the Washburn Invitational Monday.
The Lady Hornets defeated Minnesota Crookston 6-5.
Harley Sturm was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI – a 3 run home run in the 2nd inning. Brylie Bassett was the winning pitcher going the final 5 innings giving up no runs on 2 hits with 4 strikeouts.
Sioux Falls would walk off with an 8-7 win over Emporia State. Roni Rains was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI including a 2 run home run in the 2nd inning for the Lady Hornets. Brittanie Shepherd drove in 2 runs with a sacrifice fly and a double.
The Emporia State softball team is now 11-9 for the season and will open MIAA play on March 11th at Central Oklahoma.
