Plans are already underway for a Day of Giving event to benefit Emporia State University next year.
That statement comes from ESU Foundation Vice President of Stewardship and Administration and Associate Vice President for University Advancement Jennifer Denton, who hailed the university’s first-ever Day of Giving event held last month. Over $62,000 was donated Feb. 15. Nearly 230 donors participated, including 180 alums and nearly 60 current faculty or staff. Donations will support 45 different areas.
Denton tells KVOE News the totals were heartwarming. So were the stories from donors.
All funds donated on the Day of Giving go towards the Together, Forward campaign, which went past the $50 million initial goal before Homecoming last fall and is now pushing towards a stretch goal of $75 million. A current total is not being announced.
