The St. David’s Society of Kansas is welcoming one and all for its annual concert this weekend.
The 134th annual St. David’s Day Concert will again be held at the Emporia Presbyterian Church’s west campus Sunday afternoon. This year’s concert will feature Eluned Jones as a guest conductor and soloist.
Organizer Rhonda Gordon says this year’s program will function as normal after a year off due to COVID with the singing of the welcome song, the United States and Welsh national anthems and a great selection of traditional Welsh music. Sadly, Gordon says one traditional aspect of the concert will not be able to take place this year.
St. David’s Day is an annual celebration of Welsh heritage that commemorates the memory of St. David the patron Saint of the nation of Wales.
The St. David’s Day Concert will take place at 2:30 pm. Masks will be required for those who attend.
